Sousedský Pivovar Bašta has one of the best polotmavý (amber) 12° lagers in Prague. Starting with a fresh caramel aroma of burnt sugar and hops, you have to take a good strong sip to get beneath the thick frothy tan foam on top of your beer. Along with your first sip comes a rich, sweet taste of caramel from the malt, which is balanced by the consistent bitterness of hops. There are floral notes to this beer as well, but as you swallow at the end, you’ll notice a slight burn of alcohol. This full bodied lager has a smooth, velvety texture, and a rich, cloudy dark amber color.
