While the warmest months of the year may be over, the Czech republic often experiences a long and fantastic Indian Summer, which is what all of us here will be keeping our fingers crossed for this September.
If, fingers crossed, we have plenty more days of hazy sunshine to look forward to, we’ve put together some of the best events you can enjoy them at this September.
This free two day event is being hosted by Prague 4 in collaboration with the stylish restaurant Nola. Located a short distance from Arcade Pankrác OC, the mini festival will feature beer tastings, live music, and presentations covering home brewing, as well as the Czech microbrewery market.
4th and 5th of September, 5pm-9pm

The first historical record Želiv Monastery brewery dates to 1617, which means that this year they’re celecrating a whopping 400 years. There are 6 beers on offer and at 25kc for a half litre the price is hard to beat! A cultural program and competitions will run throughout the day.

Get out of Prague for the day to help the historic Ferdinand brewery celebrate 120 years in style. Located in Benesov (a frequent and fast train away from Prague) the festivities will include a series of live bands, tasting of unfiltered beers, brewery tours, and food.

Opening for the first year, the Liberec Beer Festival will feature 10 breweries offering tastings and competitions. The day will be opened by the mayor of Bohemia’s third city, with a family program in the morning, followed by live music and dancing.

While low on program details, this is sure to be a good day, much like anything else which includes the excellent beers from Matuska brewery. This year the event will be hosted at the Krystal Bistro in Karlin with at least 15 beers on offer and accompanying appetisers but together by chef Petr Tyrichter.

Get a taste for the workings of a Czech brewery as Kunratice opens its doors to the public for the day. A guided tour will be given each hour alongside tastings, food, and a children’s program.
September 23rd and 24th, 11am-10pm

In the quiet setting of Pocernice park in Prague 9, this yearly festival highlights the work of the small Počernický Pivovar. As well as a program for kids the days highlights include live bands, free beer sampling, food, and a beer related flea market.
15th-16th of September, 1pm - midnight
Zámecký park Dolní Počernice
If you’ve been planning a trip to Plzen in the near future, the Sun in the Glass festival organised at Pivovar Purkmister is the ideal opportunity. The program is absolutely jam packed with competitions, ceremonies, tours, performances, and of course, beer. Over 30 breweries will be offering their wares, including many visiting from abroad.
