Spring is here, and it’s accompanied by the welcome news that April is set to be warmer and sunnier than usual. As window displays fill with chicks and rabbits it’s time to celebrate spring, and beer lovers won’t be disappointed.
Whether you want to stay urban and enjoy watching Prague emerge from a wintery slumber, or take the good weather as an excuse to explore the surrounding countryside, we’ve compiled a list of events and festivals with something for everyone.
Even if you don’t set off for a particular event, keep your eyes peeled in April for zelene pivo, or green beer. This Maundy Thursday tradition originated at the Starobrno brewery, but can be found throughout the country. Unlike green beers found elsewhere celebrating St Patrick’s Day, zelene pivo doesn’t just come down to a chemical dye, and should be flavoured and coloured with a herbal concoction including nettles.
Check out some of the events below, and get ready to enjoy a cold beer - yellow, brown, black, or green - with some very welcome sunshine.
Kick off Easter celebrations early with an event filled day in the park. Počernický brewery are putting on a day of live music, brewery tours, creative workshops for kids, and of course food and beer. Activities start at 2pm and entry is free.
