Prague Beer Museum

Prague Beer Museum Prague Beer Museum Prague Beer Museum Prague Beer Museum

With 30 beers on tap, and located just off of Old Town Square on Dlouha Street, Prague Beer Museum is a conveniently located pub where you can try a large variety of Czech beer, from the best breweries like Kocour, Matuska, Opat, Novapacke, Rohozec, Svijany, Ferdinanda, Krakonos, and Zatecky Pivovar. This is a modern, up-beat pub perfect for meeting good friends, or starting a fun evening out. The interior is cozy, with dark wooden tables. If you’d like to try a variety of beers, they offer flights, and sample sizes are available of everything on tap. Frequented by expats, tourists, and few Czechs, Prague Beer Museum has a diverse crowd. Prices are considerably higher than at other quality Czech pubs. For example, the cheapest beer is usually around 30 czk, and the most expensive around 65 czk. Here you’re paying for a convenient location.

Since our team began visiting this pub a year ago, we noticed a few negative trends; the first, and most important, is that the taps are not well kept, and your beer doesn’t always taste fresh- which is quite infuriating if you pay a high price for what should be a top quality beer. If you pay 65 czk for a beer (the average price for a Kocour or Matuska), it should taste perfectly fresh; and sadly this isn’t the case at Prague Beer Museum. Service varies considerably- sometimes it’s friendly, but most of the time it’s poor and you’re often thirstily waiting for your next beer.

Prague Beer Museum has a limited menu of pub food- like burgers, chicken wings, but these are prepared around the corner at Fasty’s, an American/Italian fast food restaurant. Consider making reservations, as this place becomes quite busy in the evenings. To get to Prague Beer Museum by metro, you can either get off at Staromestska Metro Station, and walk across Old Town Square to Dlouha Street, or take the yellow line to Namesti Republiky. By tram, take the 8, 14, 26 to Dlouha Trida.
